Logos 4, upgrade of SESB 3 to Logos 4

Will it be possible to upgrade my SESB 3 to the Logos 4 engine? Where can I get it and what will it cost?

A "crossgrade" to Logos 4 already is available from http://www.logos.com/minimalcrossgrade at a price of $ 69,95.

The next release of SESB 4.0 (coming in early 2011) will be based on Logos 4. The SESB 4.0 upgrade will then also include the upgrade to Logos 4.

Logos South Africa gave me the following answer on the above minimalcrossgrade-solution:

* You do not qualify for the minimal upgrade. You must own an RA, QB, OC, or ND base package to purchase a Minimal Crossgrade. In other words, you must own one of the following: Christian Home Library, Bible Study Library, Leader's Library, or any of the Libronix Scholar's Library products.*

Over the years (since the first edition of Logos) I have bought many books of Logos and later on SESB 1, 2 and 3. And every time if I want to uprade, Libronix want me to buy * Christian Home Library, Bible Study Library, Leader's Library, or any of the Libronix Scholar's Library products*, etc.

It seems to me that they do not see SESB as a Base Package and that I cannot understand. I just want to upgrade my SESB 3 and my other books to Logos 4. Buying say the package Original Language means that I must buy books I already have and that just make no sense to me.

Can you give me advice please.

Hallo
The next release of SESB 4.0 (coming in early 2011) will be based on Logos 4. The SESB 4.0 upgrade will then also include the upgrade to Logos 4.
hmn ... ?? how much will the update cost? :-) is the update price mainly for the engine switch 3.0 to 4.0? or is it for new materials which were not included in SESB 3.0 ? Wasn't there an advertisement some place that the Logos engine is "free" and we only pay for books?

Already in the Update to SESB 3.0 there were "program functions" to be paid for which had been included in my updates of the Logos software for a "Scholar's Collection" ... "double pay requested" ? ?(

Cheers,
Wolfgang

Information on the upgrade can be found at http://www.logos.com/minimalcrossgrade. The crossgrade does provide a range of additional resources, but the main difference is the shift to the new Logos 4.0 engine.

The head of the Logos Sales Department in Bellingham confirmed that SESB users qualify for the Logos 4 crossgrade that is available from http://www.logos.com/minimalcrossgrade at a price of $ 69,95. Here is what the said:

It’s technically possible for anyone to purchase the minimal crossgrade, even if they don’t own a base package. Customers who own SESB can purchase a crossgrade. We removed the line of copy from the page that tells users they need to own a base package.

Logos 4 and SESB addins. Syntax search of SESB nowhere

I did download the free Logos 4 engine (and upgrading of books? 2.2 Gig ).

At this stage however a great problem for me is that I do not see the addins of SESB in Logos 4 on my PC. I cannot do a syntax search in the *BHS: WIVU Syntactic Analysis Database* (part of SESB 3 under Libronix 3.0f). The SESB Lemma Search is also missing. But the biggest problem is the fact that I cannot search the WIVU

Is the reason for this may be the fact that I just use the free engine? And will the Minimal Crossgrade ($69,95) solve this problem?

Logos 4.0 does not yet support the SESB Syntax Search nor the SESB Lemma Search. The current release is just a basic release that will be enhanced during the next year. Therefore, you should keep your SESB installation based on Libronix 3.0 parallel to Logos 4.0.
